Why am I running for the school board?
|
|
I bring a unique set of qualities to this role. I'm an 18-year resident of the
district, who feels passionately about it. I am the father of two children,
both of whom are receiving fine educations from the district. While I have
lived in Walton Hills for 18 years, as well, I am very much in favor of
remaining in the district, and strengthening what we have to offer here. I
am actively involved in the day-to-day activities within the district,
especially at the high school. And, by virtue of my professional
background, I am a skilled financial manager and an excellent public
speaker.

|
It is absolutely critical that we continue, as a number one priority, to
provide a high quality education for our children. The qualities I bring to
the school board will help us to do just that.
|
|
We must understand the needs of our children not only from our
perspective, but also from theirs. We need to be able to work on a day-to-
day basis with the parents of those students, understanding and
addressing their issues and concerns. We must continue to foster the
spirit of volunteerism within the community, to bring the many talents of
the residents of the district to the students of the district.
|
|
We must understand what goes on today within our schools to improve
upon them. We must bring our four communities together for the common
good of our most valuable asset, our children. In doing so, we need to
understand, and do our best to address, the range of ideas, concepts,
concerns, and issues that exist within the communities. And, we must be
able to clearly, efficiently, and accurately communicate our objectives and
goals, as well as the costs associated with them, to our constituents.
